Our pastor’s blog is hosting a great series on the Triduum. Here is the post on Good Friday. Please go read the series!

Two years, today, I became Catholic, thanks be to God! I love being Catholic. This date sneaked up on me, as I was thinking in terms of two Easter Vigils ago, and Easter is later this year.
This turns out to be the date of martyrdom of Saint Henry Walpole, a convert, priest, and Jesuit. He was present at the execution of Edward Campion, close enough to be splashed with Campion’s blood, and soon after that, he converted.
Saint Henry Walpole, pray for us!
Delighted to see Kathryn Jean Lopez of National Review interview Father Lawrence Lew, O.P., Dominican and photographer extraordinaire. He has been on my blogroll from day one, for good reason. Do go read the interview to read about this interesting person and wonderful Dominican, as he talks about social media, photography, and more.

On this Solemnity of St. Joseph, here are some wonderful prayers for priests, from the Silverstream Priory.
Here is a wonderful Litany of St. Joseph.
Here in the mid-Atlantic of the US, we are getting just a bit weary of the winter. I find a litany like that one to be an excellent tonic for the spirits!

Ashes being blessed before distribution, Lent, 2014
Our priest had an excellent homily (much of which is here on his blog) on the spiritual warfare that is going on during Lent. Here he is blessing the ashes.
