From the Presentation of the Lord, also called Candlemas. Here the priest is saying the Gloria (or the Collect, not sure when I took this). The Collect is a beautiful one:
Almighty ever-living God,
we humbly implore your majesty
that, just as your Only Begotten Son
was presented on this day in the Temple
in the substance of our flesh,
so, by your grace,
we may be presented to you with minds made pure.

Angel, from the Presepio that was set up this past Christmas.
[During the Mass] “At such a time angels stand by the Priest; and the whole sanctuary, and the space round about the altar, is filled with the powers of heaven, in honor of Him who lies thereon.”
John Chrysostom – On the Priesthood – http://www.newadvent.org/fathers/19226.htm
This may be a closer translation of the quotation you often see as: “When the Mass is being celebrated, the sanctuary is filled with countless angels, who adore the Divine Victim immolated on the altar.”

So I am on board for Jennifer Fulwiler’s 7 Posts in 7 Days project. Posts are lined up for the week, so here we go.
Some say there are devotions for each day of the week, e.g.
Sunday – Resurrection, Trinity
Monday – The Holy Ghost, Souls in Purgatory
Tuesday – The Holy Angels
Wednesday – St. Joseph
Thursday – The Blessed Sacrament
Friday – Christ’s Passion and His Sacred Heart
Saturday – The Blessed Virgin and her Immaculate Heart
so in some cases I am going with these, including today.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
